Using a tanning mitt apply as you would a tinted mousse, blending colour as you apply. Avoid the heel of the hand, and wipe knuckles, knees and ankles immediately. Any unwanted application should be removed immediately as the colour will take to the skin in only a few minutes. Do not moisturise prior to application, except for areas of exceptionally dry skin. Do not apply with bare hands as colour will take to the palms.

Vita Liberata pHenomenal Self Tanner Reviews

    Fake tan? Almost no tan!
At first, I thought I didn’t put it on right (3 times in a row, leaving 4-8 h in-between, no showering with soap. Already a bit of a drag, but I tried it again and although it is true that the colour is ok, the smell acceptable and so on. It does NOT stay on for 3 weeks, it washes off within the week, at least on my skin. So a lot of hassle for an expensive product with the same result as many others. I am so disappointed, thinking I found the very best one.
    Great product
This is quick and easy to apply with a mitt. The lasting power is great and tan looks smooth, even and natural. I like that it doesn’t transfer to clothes, bedsheets. I haven’t taken a star off because of the hefty price tag and the smell. I also use another gradual tan which costs peanuts and doesn’t honk ... but doesn’t last as long!
    The most natural tan
Self-tan has always scared me. Before trying Vita Liberate I used the gradual tan from La Mer, but I missed something that would last a bit better. I tried out the medium shade this summer and I loved how believable it looked! It was a perfect beach type of tan, but I wanted more subtle this time of year, especially since I'm naturally so pale. This makes you look like you've got a nice glow and some colour - definitely not orange or cheap looking! I ordered the face tan as well and I couldn't be happier! My husband didn't notice what was different at first, but said I looked so fresh and energized.
    Phen-tastic
First tip with fake tanning, use a mit. I didn't for years because they seemed like an extraneous expense (coming from someone who uses about three serums a day I am aware of the slight dichotomy here). They make everything smooth and stop 'fake tanner's wrist'. Second tip, use this fake tan on your body, it is well named. It comes out in a mousse with a subtle guide colour (for the forgetful or easily distracted) it dries almost instantly and creates a fake tan colour that looks natural on pale blue people like me. Everyone talks about the 'smell' with fake tanners, the ingredient that makes them work is what smells of biscuits not matter what happens there will be a whiff of McVittie. This one is faint and doesn't bother me in the slightest. I have never managed to make this last more than 2 weeks, but the fact that I can eek out that long from a fake tan is pretty bloody brilliant in my slightly lazy book.
    Finally!
Every year I try a at least one, sometimes more self tanners and never like anything usually because of the smell or the application. I finally tried this and I love it! The application with the mit is really easy, you can see the colour as it goes on so you can blend and avoid streaks. I applied it before bed and in the morning had a wonderful bronze glow. Some of the colour did rub off on the sheets, but I suppose that's because I went straight to bed after applying it. The next day I wore a white T-shirt in 30 degree heat and there were no marks on it at all. The biscuit smell is still present, but almost imperceptible, only for the first few hours and only if I press my nose against the skin and then it's actually quite pleasant! Completely unlike the standard self-tanners where the lingering biscuit smell actually turns my stomach. Will definitely buy again.
    THE WORST
This foam doesn't TAN it only "colors" your skin. It washes off as you shower (this means that if it rains on your bare fake-tanned legs you get beautiful staining streaks). It stinks and stains clothes! Over 40€ for such a bad product?! I only wasted my money, PLEASE DON'T DO THE SAME!!!
    Amazing!
I am just amazed by this product! Never could I imagine that a self tanner could give you this incredible skin colour. The effect is instant! I bought the dark shade even if I have a pale skin. Works like magic! Does not have an orange tone (like other ones), it just seems like you've come back from a tropical island! I used it along with the mitt from Vita Liberata, very quick and easy!
    Summer sun
Great colour if applied once or twice. Beware as you do need a good mitt to apply this with. Lasts quite a few days. Applied well, it's great.
    The best self tan
I have tried almost all the self tans out there and always come back to this one. The smell isn't offensive, it's easy to apply (with a mit), it isn't streaky (obviously you exfoliate before you apply any self tan, but even then I've had streaks with others), and the medium shade turns me this wonderful, naturally tanned colour (no hint of orange). I have also never managed to make it last more than two weeks but still think it's worth nonetheless. It's been my go to for the last two years and occasionally I stray to another brand only to return to this one again.
    Victoria's broadcasting
This is the product that brings me the closest I'll ever get to looking like a Victoria's Secret model, ha! I won't ever have the body, but at least I can get that golden tan... That said I am also not willing to do sit ups so I can't complain. I love the colour this gives my pale skin. The discovery of self tanning mits was also AMAZING. So much easier to get the tan even, especially around the wrists. I use the Vita one but I'm guessing they are all the same really.
    Terrible
This is a wash off tanner. The only thing phenomenal about this product is the daylight robbery price of it! Unbelievably mis-marketed and an absolute waste of money. When put on the skin, if you are near a splash of water, it will make the tan run and look like you are dirty. Seriously scroll on and don’t waste your money!
Perfect natural tan! Used on my wedding day!
A client of mine had recommended Vita Liberata as an alternative as I do not like using sunbeds nor do spray tans because they never seem to look natural on me. I decide to give the mousse a try. This has to be one of the most expensive faux tans I’ve used - my usual price tag being around £20-£25 - however it’s worth every penny! The tan smells lovely! Not your usual musky, biscuit! The tan itself goes on like a dream, I think even the most inexperienced user would find it difficult to not get an even result! I used the vita mitt (which I’ve also added a separate 5/5 review about). I also used shade Fair and my tan was perfect for my wedding day! Had so many compliments about how it was a natural glow and some even assuming it was natural! My tan lasted around a week, however, I was in and out of the ocean and chlorine swimming pools on my honeymoon so this may play a factor. I was even impressed when my tan did start to disappear - no scaling or patches in sight and no need for harsh scrubbing, just a gentle exfoliation! Overall this is a new firm favourite and I will be using again!! 10/10.
