Never heard of that last one? Ellagic acid is a naturally produced acid found in berries that naturally brightens skin without impacting cell DNA, and it protects against UV rays, collagen degeneration and bacterial pathogens. It's one to look out for! The essence itself is made with 80% naturally fermented ingredients, including a derivative of fermented sake that clarifies the look of pores, as well as niacinamide and polyglutamic acid to boost moisture levels and reveal a radiant, even tone. A potent cocktail of antioxidant-rich red algae and berries (read: black chokeberry, a superfood with one of the highest recorded antioxidant levels) work to unveil a luminous complexion.

Pretty average
After reading all of the reviews I was really excited to try this toner and unfortunately, I got quite disappointed. I’m not a fan of the glass (heavy) packaging nor the effect- my skin doesn’t feel that much hydrated after using it, I didn’t see any improvement but not that I was expecting them. For the price tag like this it’s a very, VERY average product. I prefer so much more the Dr Jart Hydrating toner that really makes a difference.

One my third bottle … absolutely amazing stuff! It’s going to be in my rotation for as long as it graces the shelves. I put a bit directly in my hands and apply it to my face (no wastage)! It lasts months and my skin has never been so clear and calmÂ

Really nice essence
Firstly, I have to start out with my main issue with this essence...it is too expensive for what it is and that's why it doesn't get 5 stars. It's in beautiful packaging, the product itself is hydrating, not too light or too rich and it's the colour of cranberry juice. It has no heavy fragrance and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. I really love the product and despite the heavy price tag, I will more than likely repurchase as I feel I do benefit from it in my routine. I have very dry skin, I am a tretinoin user and I use the Kbeauty methods so I use 3/4 toners, layering them one after the other and this has been fine to use with all other products.
