    • Why it's Cult

This highly stable, water-free, high strength age-defying solution features 0.2% pure retinol. This special form of vitamin A has been proven to minimise fine lines, improve pigment problems, revitalise skin and make its overall appearance fresher and more youthful. As retinol can cause irritation, The Ordinary recommends beginning your regimen with lower concentrations such as this to allow skin to build up tolerance.

Note: When pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended to avoid any skincare products containing retinoids such as formulations with Granactive Retinoid or Retinol.

The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane

The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane Reviews

    Good for initial skin improvement
I’ve recently been having some skin outbreaks and because I hadn’t used retinoids before, I decided to go with this low concentrate. I’ve definitely seen an improvement and had no irritation but on the flip side it is a bit greasy and I think I’ll have to up the dose to see better clearing of my skin. You can’t argue with the value though and I’ll definitely be trying more ordinary products!
    Good product
It's a good product, however, I prefer products not so greasy.
    Well it moisurises...
I've been using this nightly for 3 weeks. I'm late 30's have large pores and areas of pigmentation. It moisturises but doesn't seem to do anything else. No peeling or irritations, just greasy moisturiser. I'll try the 0.5% to see if this does anything, Wouldn't recommend.
    Amazing
Having used this serum in conjunction with rosehip seed oil for at least 10 weeks I have just started to notice a change. The texture is improving and skin is a little less dry - now that winter is over I'm hoping I will see much more of an improvement. However, the winning nature of this combination is definitely the improvement of pigmentation and dark areas on my skin. Alongside the hydration this is great! Will continue to use and will purchase the higher 5% retinoid once back in stock.
    Slowly but surely...
I was previously using the Granactive Retinoid 2% and didn't experience any irritation with it and decided to give this a go after my previous bottle finished. Pleased to say this hasn't irritated my skin and I'm gradually building up to daily use. My skin is not the best but since use it's been the best that it can be. I use this every other day and it's worked well. I'm not the biggest fan of squalene though (too greasy!) but for the price, you really can't complain!
    Great
Leaves my skin super soft. It is a bit oily so allow some time to absorb before putting on your cream. No peeling since it has a low retinol concentration.
    Wow!
Purchased this a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it, my skin has never felt so good, it didn't irritate my skin (which I was sceptical at first) my pores certainly look better and even the slight sun damage I have has faded so will be purchasing this again and then moving on to 0.5. Would recommend this product.
    Wow-za
Excellent results for my skin. Used this for the first time with a lot of trepidation as had never used a vitamin A product before. But there was no irritation or dryness or any problem, whatsoever. I think it's because of the gorgeous squalane oil. My skin has been looking radiant and glowy and overall even-toned. Love, love, love.
    Game Changer
This product had my skin looking even and smooth after 2 weeks of using it. The first week I felt dryness and a bit of sensitivity but once that settled I have been left with great skin, I’ve stopped wearing foundation every day now. I’ve also recommended this product to all my friends and will repurchase.
