    • Description

Each spellbinding shade of Rituel de Fille’s stunning Ash and Ember Eye Soot is brimming with the most intense pigment and conditioning seed oils – effortlessly defining and enhancing both the lids and lashline with hypnotic, stay-put colour.

For serious smoky-eyed smoulder, snap up ‘Cultist’ – an ultra-flattering rich taupe shade made in collaboration with Cult Beauty and now available only in our hallowed Hall of Fame. Created in-house using only essential ingredients (you won’t find any extraneous ‘fillers’ or synthetics) – each painstakingly selected oil and pigment serves a purpose. Both the raw ingredients and finished products are cruelty-free and made with 99% natural extracts, and the formula is free from wax, so won’t melt with the warmth of your skin. Choose from 11, thoroughly mesmer-eyes-ing hues, ranging from rich, metallic black (‘Obsidian’) to the beautiful, dramatic violet-taupe tones of ‘Serpent de Mer’.

    • How to use

These beautiful pots of color can be used as a liner, a shadow or a primer, but they are not formulated like any of those. Instead, they are a carefully balanced, extremely minimal formulation based on just natural pigment and a touch of oil.

With either fingertips or brushes, apply vertical pressure; think pressing, rather than just swiping. And unlike traditional pressed eye shadows, you don't have to be delicate with your eye soots as the product can't crack or shatter.

We recommend using dense, firmer bristled brushes to be able to pick up the most product, and some of the easiest shapes to start with are smudge brushes and angled liner brushes. However, once you are used to the texture and application of Ash and Ember Eye Soots, you'll find that they can be used with a wide array of brush styles.

Rituel de Fille Ash and Ember Eye Soot Reviews

    Awsome
    Beautiful colour and texture!
    In love with Love Spell
Beautiful deep copper shade can be used lightly or built up. It's so pretty!! The texture is also lovely. I've had mine for almost a year and I wear it several times a week, I have yet to make a noticeable dent in it. I can imagine this lasting for years. Which brings me to my 2 gripes with it; the packaging is a bit difficult if you want to apply with your finger but not get it in your nail, and given how long it lasts and the amount of product there is maybe they could halve the amount (and price) it would make more sense for the consumer? I'm looking at buying another and was reminded of the steep price tag. I guess it forces you to only pick the ones you really, really want. Never the less, Half light is in the cart.
    Fab
Love this! I have golden age which is a wonderful copper colour with a subtle sheen, which suits my hazel green eyes very nicely.
    Get it!
I got this in Sigil because I was intrigued by the positive reviews and was a bit intimidated by the darker colours. This eyeshadow is PHENOMENAL. I use Sigil for everything from blending our colours to subtle highlighting to giving dimension to the centre of the lid. I cannot wait to get every colour on offer. The formula is so smooth and creamy while still offering all the benefits of a powder. It blends like a dream and offers a glowy alternative to matte shadow without being glittery. As someone in their late 30's who has outgrown the full on glitter that seems to be on offer everywhere, this shadow allows for a non-matte option without making me look like I’m trying to be 21!! The price is steep but this shadow is truly USE-ABLE and therefore I think it is well worth it!
    Golden Age
I normally would not spend this much on a single eyeshadow, but after experiencing lipsticks and blush from this line, I had to try. I am so glad I did, this is the most beautiful eyeshadow I have ever used. It's highly pigmented and goes on like a dream. I want to order this in every shade and throw out all my other eyeshadow palettes.
    Perfect
This is the most beautiful eye shadow I have ever used I will happily pay for another one of these (I currently just use Golden Age). This is the most I have ever spent on a single eye shadow but it is completely worth it. Quality is stunning and one pot lasts forever.
    Beautiful, beautiful shadows
I absolutely love this. The texture takes a bit of trial and error to work with, but the finish is beautiful. I have Serpent de Mer, and it's a gorgeous, complex colour that makes a tricky looking smoky eye an absolute breeze!
    love love love
I tried "half light" from a friend and immediately fell in love with it. I have a medium skin tone and this is so easy to blend and leaves a beautiful sheen without any visible glitter or shimmer particles on the lid. Ordered 2 more! Thank you Cult Beauty :)
    Just hmmm
So I ordered 2 of these, Obsidian and Serpent de Mer, I have to say I feel very underwhelmed by the colour when you swatch in reality, both of these in the swatches on this site look so interesting with quite a dynamic colour, but when I swatched these in real life, obsidian is just a bland black and the serpent one is just a bland purple colour, really nothing special at all which begs the question, why are these so expensive? honestly, from my experience, save your money, they are not really worth the cost to be honest and there are other unique eye shadows out there.
    Stunning Stunning Stunning
I don't believe in creamy eyeshadow, but I believe in Rituel de Fille. They have an incredible amount of products in beautiful packaging that is easy to bring anywhere, and the pigmentation is GORGEOUS. "Love Spell" is my absolute favourite eyeshadow, I use it almost every day.
    Truly unique formula
I love these eyeshadows. I bought so far 3 shades and each one is amazing: sigil, half-light (more matte) and love spell (satin-like finish with a little sparkle). They are easy to blend, they look very unique. Once they are set they don’t move and although they feel similar to powder eyeshadows, they have something extra, je ne sais quoi, that gives them a different look than just a standard powder or cream eyeshadow. They are very comfortable to wear and last a decent amount of time (they are not long-wearing but don’t disappear immediately either).
    I'm so in love!!
I LOVE these eye soots. It ticks all the boxes for me - cruelty-free, cute packaging, tons of product, performs so well, and is easy to store/carry about! These are sort of a cream to powder formula which makes them perfect for one and done eyeshadow looks! I was pleasantly surprised that even the lighter shades give significant amount of pigment on my light/light-medium skin tone. I would've loved to purchase every single color, but I'm on a no-buy/low-buy so I have to resist myself! Also, I would love it if Cult Beauty stocked some of the newer shades as well!
    Love the Brand
I’ve bought a few Rituel de Fille products and love them all. Smooth and easy to apply - even the Orb eyeliner; I find that most liners are really difficult to get right but not this one. Also, the Celestial eye powder is great - an iridescent addition to my collection. It doesn’t flake or shed. My favourite so far is Viscera (Eye Soot). It’s fantastic! Can be barely applied to accentuate eyelids or as a liner. A little goes a long way though - very intense. Like other reviewers I have to ask - Why no Seven Sisters? It’s impossible to get anywhere and, when I do find it (usually on an American site) it’s always sold out. Any chance of stocking it? Think your site’s great, by the way!
    Will buy more!
I was a little hesitant at first due to the price but having heard so many good reviews I decided to purchase it. I bought ‘Anima‘ and it is a gorgeous rose gold pink colour. Love everything about it, the texture and how it blends. Will definitely be buying more colours and the pot will last ages!
    Beautiful
Half Light is named perfectly, it's a really good minimal makeup day shade. It gives my eyes quite natural looking depth and I can see myself using this shade a lot, so I don't mind the price quite so much. Wish the pot had a slightly bigger opening, but that's my only gripe!
    Love!
I had been thinking of trying this eyeshadow for a while, and I'm very glad I did! I got the color Sigil - it's a soft pink color with a hint of microglitter - and it's beautiful! It can be used as a base color, or as a single eyeshadow for a natural, pretty look. Once it sets, it stays put all day. The only improvement I hope the brand makes, is the container - I wanted to use my fingers to apply, but the opening is too small so you need to use a brush for application. Overall, I am happy with it, and would love to try other colors as well :)
    Exciting formula!
Buildable, long-lasting and easy to work with! Life-changing eyeshadow!
    Eye soot
I have a few of these - only the vegan ones though. Can’t fault their performance or the ease of application. They are definitely a one and done eye look with all the dimension and depth built-in. I wish there were more vegan options though. Cultist and love spell are great for wearable smoky eyes. Sigil is quite light in colour and so less impact but its reflective quality makes it great for halo eyes or inner corner or just to brighten the whole eye area. I find they last quite well too. Took a star off because I wish one of the red options was Carmine free and because I wish they were just a bit cheaper!
    Cultist
It's not taupe it's silver grey with too much glitter, not for me at all.
    Sigil is great
Subtle but mysteriously striking, I loved how Sigil looked on my lids on its own. I'll definitely buy more of these, despite the high price. I just wish Cult Beauty added all of the shades so we could have the chance to buy them all! It's money well spent, the pigment is gorgeous and the effect even better.
    I love it but
I bought "cultist" and it blends so well, easy to apply. An eyeliner, single shadow and mascara are enough for the smoky eyes. I want to try other ones but why the colour "seven sisters" is not available? I wonder.
    Cultist/golden age
Love this stuff. Cultist is a subtle but definite neutral grey/ brown with subdued shimmer. Works fantastically well with my greenish eyes for daytime. Golden Age is a real beauty, gleaming old gold, very flattering. These shadows stay where you put them and look good for ages.
    Love Love Spell
One of the best formulas I've ever come across and foolproof. It is expensive but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and a little goes a long way. On a day to day basis I just reach for this little pot and my UD palettes have been pushed aside. Just one colour is enough, it just looks so pretty on and not 'basic' at all.
    Love Spell
I never write reviews, but this is my favorite eyeshadow I've ever used. I don't wear much makeup, tending to go pretty natural, but this color is very versatile. It can be done up as a striking copper gold glitter, or it can be a really beautiful nude shadow for everyday, depending on how much you put on. (I have darker caucasian skin) You don't have to use much, I've had mine for about 5 months, use it almost daily, and I've barely put a dent in it. It cost way more than I've ever spent on eyeshadow, but I honestly feel like for the quality and how long it lasts it's actually more cost effective than getting cheaper brands more often. And it has good staying power! I have quite oily skin and my makeup always tends to move (a big reason why I don't bother wearing any), but I was actually really surprised by this stuff.
    Lovely - but creases
First of all the colour (love spell) is absolutely wonderful. Subtle yet striking copper is perfect for green eyes. Easy to apply, blends beautifully. However - sadly, the product creases on me - even with primer. This is uncommon for me since I can usually wear anything (even the Roen shadows) without visible creasing. The shadow just doesn't seem to agree with me, which is a shame because the colour is stunning.
    Just great
Love these. I NEED all of them.Easy, quick and chic
    Borderline unusable
I don't know if the one I received was defective or what, but I found this product shockingly difficult to work with. I ordered Serpent de Mer, and it applied really patchily. I could not blend it, I could not work it around. I tried pressing it onto my eyelids, tapping it, using a brush, using my fingers, etc, and it was tough going - the texture was really dry and stiff. This was easily the worst eye shadow experience I have ever had, a fact made even more bitter by the absurdly high price of the product.
    Half Light
I love this shade so much! It’s a soft taupe brown that’s not too warm. It melts on to my lids so that it looks like they are naturally a beautiful colour. It has the slightest sheen, enough to be flattering but never glittery. It is never harsh, super-easy to blend and perfect for older, less than smooth lids. Now I need some of the other colours!
    Half Light
Beautiful natural looking eyeshadow that is longlasting on my slightly oily eyelids.
    Beautiful, so worth it!
The product is so beautiful, will last absolute years and the pigment is amazing, lasts all day without needing any kind of touch up. Stunning product and packing - defo worth the price.
The perfect sexy smoky eye with "Serpent de Mer"
Very highly pigmented concentrated eye shadow... not a cream, not a powder just pressed concentrated pigment. Applies beautifully with one's fingers. I am a brunette with light skin and it suits me perfectly. It lasts all day and doesn't dry out or crease. I got the colour "Serpent de Mer" which is a rich, dark purple. Really love this product especially because, apart from the beautiful result, I know the ingredients are clean and good for my skin.
    best skincare-makeup in one
I wish Cult Beauty will come back to a more sustainable approach in terms of product promotion. In the past I could see a lot more brands involved in Sustainable sourced ingredients, small brands focused on a product or two, but today I see it goes very much with the trends and with big brands. I can only say, Rituel de Fille is an amazing brand with amazing makeup products, especially for ethical consumers . I wish to see the entire range from Rituel .
    Beautiful product !
I started my collection with RdF four years ago, I have all the luminisers and the pigments! I avoided the eye soots because they’re pricey for one shadow and I don’t do well with shadow because of oily eyelids but.....I gave in, bought anima, half light and cultist, oh my! They’re the most beautiful product ever, they blend wonderful and smudge perfect on my oily lids, they do the job for you (and they stay there too!). I’m disappointed that I waited so long. I love this brand !!
    best cream shadow out there
I bought Sigil first and now I've got two more on the way. Would love an entire set (but the price!). Tbh so worth the price as you use so little to cover the whole lid. Love using my fingers, but when my nails get long it gets a little dicey. WORTH IT. Highly recommend Sigil if you like a light touch as it's just enough sparkle to zhuzh up your makeup without feeling 'glittery'.
For this price, Melkior has better eye shadows
It’s a cute little eye shadow, but it is really nothing worth the hype. I will probably give it to my sister for her birthday. Hurts I spent so much money on this, but now I’ve learned. I have the Obsidian colour. It’s just black.
    Marvelous with some minus
I am using Serpent and still trying to find the best way to apply it. Shade and texture is very nice, quite easy to use with fingertips. However, I find it complicated to apply with brush. The biggest minus is that the shade goes to my eyelid wrinkles. I tried to use it on an eyeshadow base, but it doesn't apply smoothly, it starts to roll into tiny pieces together with the base. Not sure if it is the base I'm using or the shadow causing this.
