Created for all hair types, this lightweight serum does more than just protect your strands while you style. Keep thirsty locks in perfect condition with this moisturising heat protector, optimised with omega-rich sea buckthorn to promote hair elasticity and provide intense levels of hydration even when using high levels of heat. Just a few drops of this moisture-locking protector is all you need to keep your hair healthy, protected and free from frizz. Our top tip? Double up and use this after you’ve finished your style to add extra shine and smooth flyaways!
FOR PREPPING:
Prior to heat styling, apply two to three pumps into the palm of your hand and evenly distribute throughout hair. Style as desired.
FOR FINISHING:
After styling to smooth flyaways, add shine, and calm frizz, apply one to two pumps into the palm of your hand and evenly distribute throughout the mid-length to ends of hair.

Lovely smell love the packaging and makes my hair feel so soft and shiny

Brilliant for re straightening when hair is dry
I love this, I hate using a “wet” spray to dampen my dry hair only to restyle. An oil based light serum or a dry oil spray works so much better on preventing damage to my bleached hair. This I’ve used for a few weeks now and as I only restyle a couple of times before a hair wash, I find it perfect for protecting but not weighing my hair down - nor do I find it makes my hair greasy looking like some other reviews stated.

Amika Blockade Heat Defense serum
I love this serum, I apply two pumps to my hand and massage through hair before I use my hair straighteners, I have noticed such a difference in the shine and overall healthiness of my hair that I never noticed before using this serum. Smells so nice and leaves my hair smelling dreamy and feeling smooth. Will definitely be buying again the second my current one runs out.

Lovely serum, does work
Leaves my hair feeling shiny and protected. I have medium thickness hair which is longer than shoulder length and find that 2 pumps is good for my hair (frizzy/wavy). If you use too much, it can give a slightly greasy feel but doesn’t look it! Leaves a sleek feeling when blow dried. Have repurchased!

A really nice serum but full of silicones
Love Amika packaging and smells lush. You don't need a lot of this product and works well on damp or dry hair. I'm not sure on this product as a heat protector, as you can't use a lot, but as a smoother and finishing serum, its excellent. But be warned, this product is full of silicones! You will need to use a clarifying shampoo to get it out of your hair, otherwise you'll risk product build-up. I personally don't have an issue with silicones, they have their place, and if you want smooth, sleek, shiny hair, this product will absolutely deliver on that!.

I have only used this once so need to try again but I always loved the amika products but this left my hair feeling heavy and greasy and I am scared to try it again it does smell amazing though so will try again as maybe it was user error

Makes hair sooo soft, silky and shiny!
Wow this product is amazing. A lovely serum, left my hair looking super soft, silky and shiny after drying. Not too thick and sticky or too runny, it melts into the hair and doesn’t leave it feeling crispy or greasy!

Heat defense
Hair feels soft and smooth after first use. Smells good. Would rate it a five but feel the cost is pushed up by the nice bottle and therefore not 100% value for money
