Expert reviews of Lucas Papaw Papaw Ointment

First aid remedy for delicate skin

4 stars

By Sarah Chapman, Facialist, skin care expert

This unctuous balm from Australia has a gorgeous texture and delicious smell. It is a remedy for almost any skin condition with its healing and exfoliating paw paw. Use it on insect bites, rashes, dry skin, spots, infections or just as a nourishing treatment. I love to use it for facial massage and it is a natural alternative to 8 hour cream for long haul flights. A little goes a long way, try it, as you will wonder how you managed without it before and this one really is an insider secret.

Brilliant

5 stars

By Charlotte, Student, Twenties, Somerset

The Pawpaw Ointment is amazing. I bought some and fell in love with it and for Christmas gave a pot to my friends. Not only does it smell delicious but it can be used for anything. It helps with ingrown hairs, I put it on my nails and they are now stronger and healthier. I gave a pot to my father as he sails and it protects his face from windburn. I also use it for any cuts and spots, they heal so much faster. We have even used it on our dog, he had a patch of sensitive skin that kept getting cut, he hasn't had a problem with it since. It is great to know that as you are putting it on, it is free from any nasties. It really is a miracle ointment.

Best Moisturising Ointment/Balm Ever!

5 stars

I test pretty much every beauty product out there and lately my hands have been seriously dry due to the harsh Canadian winter. This product is the only thing that has saved my hands and it's amazing on lips, dry cuticles and on your heels too. I can't live without this, especially on plane rides. This works. Try it!

Amazing bite healer

5 stars

This was a real saviour for me on holiday. I always get bites on my legs and then after they heal the marks stay on my legs for a long time making them look terrible. I applied this every day to my bites and they healed super fast and with no marks left behind. Amazing. I love the packaging too.

Amazing as a lip balm for dry or sensitive lips

5 stars

I really can not live without this!! After having an annoying allergy flare up on my lip I tried almost every lip product out there from cheap to expensive over a couple of months, nothing worked and then I discovered this little beauty! Cleared up my allergy in no time, and I've been using ever since. Love that it is natural too, for years I was one of those with the lil tub of petroleum jelly -you know the one I mean! Well never again, and I was so reliant on that stuff applying every hour or less, not so with Lucas Papaw, I use a few times a day max, mostly just once in the morning does the trick, it's that good! Seems to moisturise more deeply rather than just coat. Even my boyfriend asks after this agreeing with me (wow) that it works ;-) Excellent value too. I have been decanting from the large tub to mini travel pot to carry around, and now going to try the tubes. If you are searching for the perfect lip balm try it, you won't be disappointed :-)

Lovely Stuff

5 stars

I was given a tube of this lovely stuff as a Christmas present, from a family friend who had been to Australia and raved about it. I was skeptical, but as I have very sensitive skin I gave it a try. It is fantastic for distressed skin - I have used it on patches of eczema and it is magical! It's also good on any small cuts, spots and so on. I even use it as lip balm! I have bought this product several times from Cult Beauty as it one of very few websites that regularly stocks this product and has a choice of sizes to buy. I would recommend it to anyone!

Amazing!

I absolutly love Pawpaw Ointment! I used to use 8hour cream on my lips to stop them drying out but didn't enjoy the smell or taste. After reading masses of product reviews I decided that Papaw had to be the one. Its smell is very subtle and doesn't have a chemical taste to it. I have since brought this for friends of my and they love it to. A definite essential!

Pawpaw Magic*

5 stars

I first discovered this balm whilst in Australia. It is perfect for any fashionista...the ideal travel companion. It works wonders on your lips as a smoothing, calming balm or as a subtle gloss over lipstick. Since discovering it I have moved between London and South Africa. The climates are radically different, but the balm works for chapped lips or for sunburn and is an essential item to survive in the urban jungle. Brilliant!

A handbag must have!

This product is definately a cult beauty buy. It does the same as Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour cream, only without the huge price tag. I also think that it feels much more comfortable on your skin and lips than Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. I use this product for so many things, including for chapped skin, hand cream, dry knees and elbows, lips, subtle lip gloss, insect bites, spots, and a moisturising face mask. I've also read that papaw ointment is good for babies as its very natural and has incredible healing properties. Admittedly this product is a bit difficult to get hold of in the UK, but Australian girls definately have the right idea by making sure that they don't go anywhere without it!

A True Handbag Staple

4 stars

By Carol, Programme Manager, Thirties, Merriott, SOMERSET

I first read about this product in a magazine, it was being recommended as Celeb Must Have, and my initial thought was that it couldn't possibly live up to the claims. I was wrong. The ointment can be used to safely address most minor skin issues - particularly good on grazes, scratches (for those who enjoy gardening, it's a must), chaps, sore lips, any little dry patches, and I even used a little on my hair as a pomade when I was caught without any hair product at work. I was so impressed, I bought one for each of my girlfriends as a stocking filler, and each of them without fail has asked where to get this. A little of the ointment does go a very long way.
