Having researched her increasingly elaborate skin care regime, winery owner April Gargiulo became increasingly concerned with the high levels of ineffective and potentially toxic ‘fillers’ she found in her products – which prompted her to start investigating non-harmful alternatives. The formula for Active Treatment Essence is an incredibly complex one that offers multi-faceted performance to deeply hydrate, repair, renew, and prepare skin for Active Botanical Serum! 1. Essence
After cleansing, dispense one-third of a dropper of Active Treatment Essence in the palm of your hand. It's worth noting that the essence has a strong scent not unlike champagne vinegar courtesy of a complex of natural actives. This will dissipate when you follow with the serum.
2. Pat/Press
Briefly join palms to saturate both hands, then quickly apply to skin by patting and pressing the Essence into the face for 5-10 seconds.
3. Seal
To amplify results and seal in hydration, follow with 5-6 drops of Active Botanical Serum while the skin is still damp.

Brighter, balanced skin
This beautiful botanical essence works wonders to brighten, hydrate and balance the complexion all while repairing the skin barrier. With one of my favourite skin-soothing ingredients (Centella Asiatica) high on the INCI, I was keen to try this formula and it didn’t disappoint! My skin feels plumper, smoother, calmer and more radiant after just a week of use. The only reason I have to drop a star is because of the scent, while it does dissipate relatively quickly, it takes away from the luxury experience during application. Needless to say, the results I’ve seen won’t deter me from continuing to use this essence as the efficacy of the formula outweighs the subtle scent of vinegar.Â

New Obsession Unlocked!
As an oily but dehydrated girl, the winter can be a struggle for me. I break out, but also flake, but also don’t want anything on my skin that just sits on the surface and feels like it’s not doing anything beneficial. My colleague suggested I try this essence and after just a couple of weeks I can confidently say my skin has never looked better - even in the harsh winter London’s been having. Plump, hydrated and oh my goodness the *glow* I’ve been walking around with - it’s incredible! I do use it quite sparingly as it’s such a beautifully rich and nourishing texture, my oily skin doesn’t need loads for it to do a great job. I’m seriously impressed with this product, and although pricey it’s definitely earned a prized place on my ‘everyday essentials’ shelf.Â

Stunning product
My mum and I have always been avid fans of the serum but when it came to trying to essence, I was a little more wary. Firstly it smells like vinegar. It's a little unpleasant at first but you get used to it and the smell disappears very quickly especially when used with the serum after which smells divine. The actives in this serum are like nothing that I've tried. Within a couple of days, my dry winter skin was fully hydrated, calmer, less red  - dare I say it - there was a definite glow. Although pricey, I think you'd use less products in the long run. Stunning product.Â

Wonderful
…..and like fine wine and all other fine things worth every penny… it makes for beautiful even toned supple soft hydrated skin … yes it smells but of the active ingredients that create the best skin I’ve ever had and still having to wear masks every day I’m working it helps to combat all the nasty side effects of this will definitely repeat….and repeat again a true cult productÂ

Overpriced and useless
I was really excited to try this - and I absolutely adore the serum so expected good things for my splurge. What a disappointment! It smells like plain, old vinegar and feels like what I imagine burning one’s face with acidic vinegar must feel like. And I know pain is meant to equal beauty, but it didn’t do a single thing for me. Definitely not for anyone in my opinion, even if it were free!

Stunning results
This is the first product I have ever used which has given me visibly amazing results. I have very complicated skin - post acne/combination/pre-menopausal and it has calmed pretty much everything down. I can see it is helping with the cystic acne along the jawline developed due to the constant mask wearing.

Really flipping good
I'm a lover of both essences but traditional active toners, so having a hybrid is like a dream come true. Hydration and exfoliation in one means when using it in conjunction with the Active Botanical Serum your skin will be glowing like a real-life vineyard farmer's daughter who's efficient in vitamin D and gets to sample wine daily. The fermented aspect to the product is super interesting for beauty lovers like me who can be an ingredients snob, the fermented aspect also translates to the actual product with the slight kombucha smell, it doesn't linger at all, once it's on the skin you can't smell it. As I have dry skin I do need to use at least half a pipette full of product at a time but the effects are worth it. While using this I did have a slightly stress-related breakout and upon reflection, while the essence didn't keep them at bay fully then were definitely smaller, less aggressive, and fewer than expected? I had very high expectations and wouldn't have expected this but I don't think there is any product on the market that could fully banish a stress-related breakout. After using this in conjunction with the serum after a week my skin was as flawless as ever, you could see your reflection in my forehead and my acne scarring had added dramatically, after the stress-related break out my skin did return to its perfect "one-week" afterglow! I really do recommend this and to make the price point justifiable it's two products in one!

If your skin is dry this is your guy!
I find the essence is great to use with the serum, the smell for me isn’t the best, I would explain the smell to be very vinegary but when the serum goes on top the smell balances out. It’s unbelievably hydrating and nourishing so I can again only use this in my evening routine as I am very oily, I think if you are a dry skin gyal you would adore this and I’m excited to continue using this now the months are getting colder. When using this product, I get an instant glow to my skin and find my overall completion is a lot brighter and my post-breakout marks are starting to fade!
