If ever there was a fragrance that gets us hot under the collar, Endymion by Penhaligons never fails to turn on the charm. A dashing, swarthy scent, it comprises a charismatic bouquet of nutmeg, cardamom and lavender. We wouldnt be so vulgar as to call it a 'pulling perfume' but we defy passers-by not to fall under its spell. The scent takes its name from Greek mythology - Endymion was the son of Zeus who was put into a deep sleep by the Goddess of the Moon so she could continually gaze upon him (not creepy in the slightest). But its safe to say he was a good-looking boy, and this warm, dreamy cologne evokes a similar magnetism that could steal the heart of a deity.
Penhaligons history dates back to 1872, so its safe to say they know a thing or two when it comes to knocking up a decent aroma and Endymion is no exception. If we were to assign a character to this rich, enveloping cologne, it would have to be a romantic hero in a period drama (complete with a deftly raised eyebrow and soaking white shirt). Safe to say, its seriously sexy opening with crisp cool notes of mandarin, lavender and bergamot before revealing a somewhat darker side of coffee absolute, black pepper and nutmeg, which softens into a seductive base of incense and myrrh.
Spray around the neck and chest area, loosen your tie and perhaps undo a shirt button or two.
