    • Why it's Cult

Founded by Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi in 2006, Le Labo sought to disrupt the fragrance industry’s monotonous succession of soulless scents. The New York-based artisanal perfume house has now become iconic for its unconventional yet luxurious hand-blended olfactory offerings, which offer unique yet utterly beguiling sensorial experiences and memories. Its phenomenal success has resulted in the brand’s expansion into mesmeric botanical skin care, men’s grooming and lust-have bath, body and home fragrance. Vegan and free of parabens, this stylishly medicinal-looking tub of Face Lotion Basil will sit pride of place on your bathroom shelf. With a no-fuss, androgynous approach to skin care, Le Labo have introduced a lotion that’s filled with anti-inflammatory antioxidants, soothing fatty acids and pore-purifying ingredients. Say bonjour to your new do-it-all Holy Grail.

In true Le Labo style, “believe in the soulful power of thoughtful hands,” and take a moment to really feel the lightweight formula of the Face Lotion Basil as it melts into your skin. Notice how it gently nourishes, soothes and hydrates. Formulated with plant-based ingredients and 100% cruelty-free, the Face Lotion Basil is a guilt-free must-have that’ll help to fix all of your skin care beauty bothers.

Formulated with chamomile to help fight acne scars and breakouts due to its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, paired with verbena to unclog pores, soften and deeply hydrate – the Face Lotion Basil is a one-way trip to fresh, clear skin. The citrusy note of the verbena elevates the basil, which in itself protects from environmental stressors. Add these ingredients to shea butter (which deeply hydrates using fatty acids) and you’ve got a hydration powerhouse on your hands. Then add apple to the mix, and the Le Labo Face Lotion Basil uses antioxidants to protect the skin by neutralising free radicals and encouraging elasticity, which in turn promotes a youthful appearance. Apple extract also houses AHAs, allowing the lotion to gently exfoliate without any harsh microbeads, promoting a brighter complexion. Le Labo - Face Lotion Basil

Le Labo Face Lotion Basil Reviews

Not what I expected based on the description
I've tried it a few times and so far I'm not very happy. The scent is a lot stronger than I anticipated. While it smells nice in the jar, it's a bit too much on my skin. The texture is great, it's nice and thick, and at first it seemed to be absorbing well but after 10 minutes when I touched my face I realised it's pilling. I don't know if it reacts with the serum I had put on earlier (the serum goes well with my other moisturisers) or of it's the cream itself in general. I stopped using it as a face cream after I noticed I was getting small white spots on my cheeks. My partner used it several times too and he said although it absorbs very well into his skin, he gets an instant stinging sensation that lasts for a few minutes. He also mentioned it smells quite strong. It makes a nice but an expensive hand cream. It's not what I expected based on the description and won't be purchasing again.
    No hype....no need.
I love Le Labo products. They work, they’re kind to the skin and are made from beautiful ingredients. Understated and fabulous. No hype, no fuss.
