MEET ILAPOTHECARY’S FOUNDER

With a deep appreciation for planet earth and its ability to provide wisdom through Mother nature, Denise Leicester developed ilāpothecary in 2018. Looking to create products that not only address physical ailments, but also help with emotional wellbeing, Denise was passionate about formulating products to combat the stresses of everyday life. Having worked as a nurse in Dubai for Sheik Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum — one of the leaders of the UAE – the founder was introduced to the power of essential oils. She began incorporating them into the sheikh’s treatments and was amazed by its results. However, it wasn’t until she returned to London and faced her own challenges with chronic fatigue, that she thought about introducing a more holistic approach to her life. She started by opening a yoga studio and an onsite apothecary in Oxfordshire and began embracing the powerful ingredients around her — we’re talking everything from British-grown herbs to medicinal flowers like arnica and calendula.
