Hello Sunday The One For Your Lips - Clear Lip Balm SPF 50 Reviews

Not bad but could do better with the taste
This surprisingly sinks into my lips, not super oil or greasy. It does give off a bit of a taste that is not great, but I don't hate it either.
    Wanted it to work
I was drawn to this as it contained SPF 50. But like other reviewers, the scent/taste is a little overpowering. Moreover, it was slightly irritating. I'm still going to use and try to finish it especially as I will be in the sun a lot until the winter rolls in, but I'm not going to repurchase.
The one I will buy again and again
Was so pleased to find this little gem offering SPF50 protection and at such an affordable price too! This balm feels so hydrating on the lips and leaves a lovely subtle gloss effect (I have even tried over lipstick and it works a treat). I love the floral fragrance, so summery and fresh. I’ve almost run out due to using pretty much every day since purchase so will definitely re-buy…£5 is such a good price!!!.
    update
The Hello Sunday SPF 50 lip balm ruined my lips. It wrinkled up my lips, left them so dry that I couldn’t smile or open my mouth wide enough to eat and it even turned my lips black. Not brown, BLACK. My boyfriend noticed it too and was pretty shocked. It even caused a blood clot on my lower lip. I have micro tears all over my lips and they are on FIRE. My Cupid’s bow is extremely sore and swollen, I look like I’ve gotten lip fillers. The skin on the outline of my lips are peeling. I have never in my life had wrinkles on my lips and this product has caused deep set wrinkles that I can’t even use a lipstick or lipgloss to cover it up. This product has ruined so much for me and I will never buy anything from this brand and I’m disappointed that cult is planning on restocking it as well. I will either have to do a chemical peel or laser on my lips to reverse the damage, if it’s even possible that is. I’ll be spending hundreds of pounds on treatment as a punishment of using a 5 pound disgusting lip balm.
    Ahh...The Smell!
Horrid smell! tried hard to work past it but failed, how disappointing!
    Scent!
    Highly scented and tastes horrible.
    Strong smell
I was so excited to try this but unfortunately, the smell was so strong I felt sick and had headaches after putting them on (tried multiple times and the same thing happen) not sure if it's the same for everyone. The product seems to work wonders though, it's a real shame :( Looking forward to an unscented version of it! x
    Totally worth £5
I love this lip balm! SPF50 and leaves my lips really soft. I love the smell of it, but like that the smell doesn’t stay on after you apply it. Will definitely buy again for that price.
    Not a fan
Was really disappointed with this lip balm. Wanted one with spf and had high expectations but it doesn’t do anything for the lips, the smell and taste is not pleasant and the texture isn’t very nice at all! I wanted to love it so much!
    No...just no
I'm on the hunt for a lip SPF and this is not it. The lip balm smelled like disgusting chemicals. The packaging made opening this product a challenging chore. The texture and the aftertaste were the worst. It's tasted like how an awful SPF smelled like and the smell was extremely strong. The texture was extremely liquid made it difficult to apply. Not into it. Pass on it.
Please girls PLEASE don’t buy this
This is by far the worst lip product I have ever tried, it literally brought me to tears out of frustration. You know when you try a new product and it ruins your skin so you take months to restore it back to normalcy? Well, I think that’s what I’ll have to do after what this lip balm has done to my lips. It is so grainy, smells like baby powder (which doesn’t bother me), and dried out my lips to the point where it’s peeling and sucked the life out of them that I can’t even smile. It hurts when I move my mouth because of how much it’s dried it out. I’ve been using my palmers lip balm to help but this is beyond repair. Please don’t waste your time and money using something as horrid as this, please save your lips!!!
    Nice...but!
This is such a *lovely* brand, the packaging is on point and anything SPF is always of interest! As much as I wanted to love the balm, it leaves quite a strong after-taste in the mouth. But feels super moisturising on the lips!
    Thee Lip Balm for Summer
Smells like a summer holiday. Sun protection that does not leave lips looking ashy and leaves no white cast. Cute and clean packaging. Lip balm is not sticky or greasy. Great price point for the amount of product and spf protection.
    Lip Balm Collector
I have so many lip balms but am always looking for more. I was not disappointed with this. It's not sticky, it glides on, and adds a subtle sheen to my lips. My lips feel smooth and instantly hydrated. It also contains SPF which is a massive bonus, people often forget about their lips when applying SPF. Finally, I absolutely LOVE the smell and taste and I will definitely be buying this over and over again.
    My 3rd one
I've gone through full tubes of this which I can't say for my other lip balms that are lost or forgotten about. On its own this is gorge but I wear it over my lipstick as well and it looks amazing. Perfect glossy look without being sticky. Also, the smell is so fresh
    Good & Bad
Pros: reasonably priced, contains SPF 50, lovely texture, nice and hydrating on my lips. Cons: it has a strong somewhat unpleasant smell (eventually fades) the lid is a little rough on fingers to open, the applicator is not ideal when you’re out in public because you have to use your fingers to reapply
    I'm torn
It feels good on the lips, I quite like the texture, and I don't hate fragrance, but the taste is bad. I can make it work if I let it sit for a while, but it still gets in the mouth.
Weird smell but good lip balm
The scent of this lip balm is honestly the worst I have ever smelt/tasted. It smells like a cheap Yankee candle, BLEH. If you can get past that, it's good. Perfect consistency for my lips stays on for long. Leaves my lips looking glossy and hydrated. BUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHANGE THE SCENT.
    Too much fragrance.
Some people like fragrance and that's ok but this goes overboard with the perfume. That being said, the consistency is ok but, overall, it needs to be reworked. I bought two tubes thinking it would be fab....might just give that second one away.
    Too sticky
I have to say this one sadly isn't for me. I love a good SPF lip balm but this one for me feels like more of a 00s sticky lipgloss than a lip balm. The scent is also too strong for my taste. The price point is great but sadly this one didn't quite work for me.
    Not the one!
Sadly, this lip balm disappointed to the max! Whilst it hydrated for a long time (which was the only good thing about it) the taste was horrible!!! It leaves a very chemical aftertaste on your mouth which made me feel nauseous after using each time!
    Decent
Very accessible price point, which arguably makes the purchase worthwhile. The product itself is nice. I enjoyed that it is very soft and melts right on, but I will say that I’m not sure how nourishing it is, especially after reapplying a couple of times and resulting in dryer lips. It is getting warmer so my lips are in a better state, but I would be more hesitant to pick it up in the fall/winter. Additionally, it is very fragranced so be careful if you highly sensitized to fragrance. Hope that the brand might consider making its products unscented.
Really wish I could return this
I don’t think I can properly express how much I hated this. It feels greasy instead of nourishing, but I can hardly remember much more about the texture because the scent was EXTREMELY overpowering - even for me, and I love fragrance. I was expecting more of a sweet scent with a little floral hint given the ingredients, but it actually smells like old lady perfume; it also tastes SO much of sunscreen which is exactly what SPF lip balms are not supposed to do since otherwise, you can just put regular sunscreen on your lips. It made me gag, and despite scrubbing my lips the taste has lingered for over an hour. If it weren’t £5 I’d be so mad about not being able to return it, but I don’t think that’s enough to warrant a higher rating than 1 star. I’d recommend getting the Ultra Violette SPF50 lip balm instead.
    Nice lip balm
This product is in-between a lip balm and a gloss which I like. Not too sticky which I like for summer doesn’t last on the lips for that long but I don’t mind reapplying, overall would repurchase as is rare to see an SPF 50 for a lip product especially for £5 and the tube is cute!
