goop’s signature fragrances are composed entirely of all-natural elements, which the brand promises are imbued with the power to entrance, heal and transform – all while smelling utterly sublime.
When goop, in collaboration with star perfumer Douglas Little, were dreaming up this Scented Candle: Edition 02 - Shiso, they were inspired by Ikebana, the art of Japanese floral composition, as well as thoughts of cool air, pale sun and sensual heat against cool, damp air. The star of the scent is shiso leaf (also known as perilla), which has a slightly spiced yet fresh characteristic, which is green, earthy and delicate all at once. The perfume begins with this, before opening out into spicy greens, crushed stems and ancient exotic woods, including oak moss, said to encourage creativity and palo santo, said to clear negative energy. This is mingled with extracts of lemon, lime, vetiver, cedar wood, cumin, clove and patchouli, for a beautifully balanced mix of the fresh and the spicy. Entirely non-toxic and crafted from soybean wax, this clean candle has a burn time of up to 65 hours.
Light the wick of the candle on a flat surface, away from anything flammable and relax
TOP TIP: The first time you light any candle make sure you allow it to burn uninterrupted for two hours, that way the candle will then burn evenly to the base rather than just a small dent through the middle of the wax. Trim the wick before subsequent uses to avoid smoke.

This may sound strange...
... but then again, most of my reviews do. If you've ever had a horse or been around them you may have smelled hoof oil and this candle smells just like it. Which is actually lovely, and evoked memories of my Shetland pony Rocky when I was 8 years old. Not sure if this will help people decide whether or not to buy :)

Amazing scent
I bought this candle & was amazed with the quality, scent & style of it. It has a woody but fresh scent which is very calming especially after a stressful day. It reminds me of Diptyque’s Feu De Bois but without the strong unpleasant smoke that comes with it. This candle didn’t sit on my chest either!! Good job!!!
