    • Why it's Cult

Please be aware that the {Anastasia Beverly Hills} 'Medium' Contour Cream Kit has now changed in response to customer feedback. The shade 'Nude' has now been replaced with 'Ash Brown'.

Available in four shades, these palettes of six contouring creams have been causing a cyber-space frenzy – with buttery, beautifully buildable textures, these are perfect for sculpting your favourites features; exaggerating shadows and highlighting ‘high points’, to effortlessly cheat your way to Kate Moss-worthy cheekbones (we can hear the supermodels quaking). Choose between 'Fair', 'Light', 'Medium' and 'Dark', then experiment with how best to cleverly contour your visage – with a little bit of artful make up application, you can easily create the illusion of a smaller forehead, slimmer nose or softer jawline. All it takes is practise (and some guidance from this useful, Anastasia-approved {tutorial}). Et voila!

    • How to use

For a step-by-step diagram, click {here} 1. Drag a line of contour 2-3 shades darker than your skin tone at an angle from top of the ear to corner of the mouth (going lighter as it reaches the mouth area so the contour line can disappear before hitting the laugh line). This step chisels the hollows of the cheeks. 2. Contour the temples and top of the forehead (along hairline) to minimise a large forehead and create a '3D' effect. 3. Apply the same powder along the jawline under the ear and connecting the the chin, to chisel the jawbone. 4. Blend the jaw contour down to the neck to avoid a harsh line. 5. Starting at the inner corner of the eyebrow, use a narrow brush and drag a contour line down the bridge of the nose. Do the same on the other side of the nose so you have two parallel lines running down the bridge of the nose. 6. Apply contour on the bottom of the nose to connect the two parallel lines and to make the nose appear shorter if you have a long nose. 7. Highlight the cupid's bow above centre of lip to create a pout, and highlight centre area of chin to balance the face. 8. Highlight under eyes, across top of cheekbones, and down toward apple of cheeks to brighten under eyes and make the cheekbones appear raised. 9. Highlight the laugh line area (from beside the nostril down to corner of the mouth) to make them appear less deep of shadowy. 10. Use what's left on the brush to clean up under the cheek contour and sharpen. 11. Highlight between brows to centre of forehead, and fan toward the arch of the brows to make the brows appear bolder and clean. 12. Use a shimmery highlight to dust lightly all over the previously highlighted areas for a pop of shine. 13. Remember, do not add shimmer to laugh lines, wrinkles, or areas within extremely visible pores of bumps.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Series Contour Cream Kit Reviews

    Sarah Brock

Bridal Make up ArtistThis palette is a staple in my pro-kit!
    Sarah Brock
This palette is a staple in my pro kit - I love using these cream contour/highlight colours after foundation to give the face a sculpted and perfected look. Even though they are creams, they aren't too greasy and are easy to apply with fingers. They're also really easy to blend - ideal for lending the complexion a more chiseled, 'red carpet-ready' look. I use the 'Fair' palette the most as it gives such a natural effect.
    Not the best
The colour range is amazing, but the product itself is so thick and so difficult to work on the skin.
    Only use a tiny bit
It's the best contour kit I've used and I've used a lot. You really don't need much and use a toothbrush make-up brush.
    Amazing
Literally the best contour palette I've ever tried. Makes my skin seem flawless as I use it under my foundation most of the time and doesn't leave it cakey.
    Easy to blend
This palette can be very drying but it can be fixed by warming it up between your fingers or using a little beauty oil. So blendable and dark enough shades to actually contour with since I find it difficult to find contour shades dark enough for me.
    Not the best
I brought this product as I had heard so many amazing things about it, it's not a bad product but from what I had heard I expected more. I've used it a hand full of times to give it more than one chance it's definitely never going to be my go-to product but ill use it because I've spent so much money on it.
    GREAT
This is amazing for oily skin but if you have dry skin mix with beauty oil.
    ABH contour pallets
Hello. I bought the cream and powder contour kit and they are amaziiiiing in the dark shade. They came in a very good condition and very well packed. Also they came very fast to Greece in less than 7 days. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!!
    Overrated!
Poor pigmentation, difficult to use (I tried a damp beauty blender, the product got lost, multiple brushes - these did give the best effect but still not up to standard, I used a dry Dior blender, it just blended into nothing).. finger application - time consuming. ABH does do fantastic contour colours but the highlight ones are never anything to write home about. The packaging is nice, the product has a slight clinical smell about it. I own all the ABH palettes and they aren't for me, I'm afraid.
    The very best....
These cream colours are a must have for any amateur or pro make up artist alike, the creamy shades blend super easily to create a perfected look - even the fairest skin gets brightened with the light shades in the fair kit. Simply amazing colours, consistency & staying power.
    Loooove
Absolutely the best. Love it for occasional wear. Really happy with this buy, introduced it to lots of family and friends who have gone on to buy the product. The coral shade is my favourite for blush and under concealer to erase dark areas and circles.
    Love this
Definitely worth the money. I love this product!
    Too Warm for me
Not impressed to be honest, I've had this in my professional kit for 6 months and all the colours have been too warm for all my clients.
    Worth every penny!
So worth the money! Great quality, easy to work with and blend, and the pale sets are ideal for very pale skin! Definitely worth adding to your collection.
    Fabulous contour & highlight shades
After figuring out which shade to go for, I decided to opt for light. A little does go a long way with this product I will say and I think the highlight of this palette is amazing! I use a touch of the lightest shade for my highlight and it really does make a difference. I would say with the darker colours, they are extremely dark so I'd suggest using a little bit of this or I'd also say to buy the powder highlighting kit and this also works great. Its a great palette to have in your makeup kit although I tend to only use the highlight.
    AMAZING
I have bought this for myself, and because of the way it looks, people have asked we what I use and have purchased this as gifts for a few people. I purchased medium and I found it blends so well that the contour does not look harsh at all once blended in with a beauty blender. Would recommend :)
Contour shades amazing - highlight meh
When i watched initial reviews i passed on this product but when they released the fair kit that has been reformulated i snapped it up asap. As a fan of the powder kit i expected to love this and i adore the contour shades theyre v natural but i find the highlight shades tend to emphasise pores where concealer doesnt. The glistening shade is absolutely stunning on, it gives the most natural lit from within shine and glow but after 4+ hours i find the makeup underneath has broken down. Overall i dont regret purchasing and still use, just not as often as my beloved powder contour kit.
    Too Stiff
This contour kit is beautiful and the Shade Fair is perfect for my pale complexion. However, the shades are still too stiff, they felt very dry on the face and I really had to work at the blending. I recommend adding any type of beauty oil, eg Argon oil before using this product.
    AMAZEBALLS however
I love this product! I am going to be buying the next in dark so I have various contour shades to work with, however usually I use medium. However can she bring out cream refills please :(
    Wonderful
At first when I got the kit I thought that the formula was way too dry for my combo skin so then I saw one of Jaclyn Hill's videos and she recommended mixing it with a beauty oil. That was a complete game changer and it glides on so much smoother on my skin and it's so much easier to blend. You literally only need one drop! I just wish the colours weren't so warm and, dare I say, slightly orangey. Other than that the ABH Cream Contour Kit is a staple product for whenever I'm doing a full on glam look, I love it!
    Amazing
By far the best make up product I've ever bought!! So worth the money, recommend it to anyone who wants a good contour kit.
    Really good product !!
this product is a very good palette for contouring !! Although the colors are pretty warm toned, there's a great variety in different shades and I find that being mixed race, it suits me perfectly as I change skin tone with every season :/ At first I wasn't sure about the coral color however I now use it as a color corrector before I apply my concealer to my under eyes and any other darker scars or blemishes which evens out my dark circles with ease!!! I also find the colors quite hard to blend with a sponge ! I would recommend adding some type of makeup beauty oil to the desired pan or having a lot of patience lol. But overall I love this product it's amazing !!!
    Perfect!
This palette has all the colours I need to contour and highlight. Other reviews have said the colours are too orange for fair skin. I disagree. I'm very fair skinned and the colours blend very easily. I'm very happy with this palette and have found it really easy to use.
    Brilliant
I've tried numerous contour products, and this is my perfect one. Although at first I thought it was quite difficult, it does get easier. Lasts all day when I use my make up setting spray. The most natural contour product I have used, although it is good to hear there will be a Fair pallet also. Highly recommended product!
    Overall quite good
The consistency is quite hard to work with but it is a good colour pay off. I bought the medium and it is perfect for my filipino skin. The salmon in particular is great for getting rid of the dark circles under my eyes.
    Complete
I was a fan of the powder contour palette until I discovered this. Now I don't think I could live without it. Blends so beautifully and a little goes a long way. Absolutely LOVE A.B.H!! xox
    Great
I just love it!! The best contour I ever tried. It is great for face that is dry and little bit oily on T-zone. I recommend it!! Before trying it - just put primer and wait a minute then contour. I have used Light.
    Love it!
I'm brand new to contouring and after reading so much about this kit I purchased it to come to London. I love it, gorgeous creamy texture and so easy to blend, I'm really chuffed with it
    Love it!
Decided to purchase after reading many reviews from across the pond and I am so glad I did! I prefer cream products as they blend much more easily. I hear there is a "fair" tone kit coming out soon for those paler than the light kit can offer. It is more suitable for warm skin tones so for those wanting slightly cooler tones then go for the powder kit. The powder kit is also easier to use for newbies I find. My skin type is dry and it goes on and blends beautifully on well prepped skin. For those that find it a little too dry then drop a teeny drop of skin oil before applying. It provides great coverage and something I use everyday now.
    Not for pale skin
I'm very pale & bought the Light palette. The colours are too orange/warm toned for pale skin. I don't know what skin tone would be able to wear this shades. I agree with Alexa the consistency is really dry. So definitely a miss & a waste of money for me
    Fantastic
Never contoured before. This pallet is easy to use and leaves the skin looking natural and flawless. But far my best purchase.
    I like it
I have the shade Medium because I can find light and dark colors in this palette so it is quite universal. As a contour product I love it, but as a highlighting product...not really. The Banana shade under my eyes (I do not have dry undereyes!!!) is a little bit dry and the Coral too. But the colors in the bottom row are perfect. I read that some use it with oil, I will try it and maybe it will be a perfect undereye product. And one more downside: there are no refills. The (powder) contour kit has refill options, but if you use up one shade from this palette you have to buy the whole palette again. What a shame. It is very pigmented though.
Good ..... but slightly stiff and dry
This palette features a good shade range with the shades in the fair palette not to dark or warm. However, I do find the formula a little stiff and feel as though I have to dig my brush/ sponge into the product to get enough. The formula is really easy to blend. Would recommend to people more experienced with makeup. A beauty oil could be added to make the product more pliable.
SO GOOD, but runs out so quick :(
I love this palette more than any other makeup product, but the highlighter shades run out so quick I need to buy a pallet each month. And it's not cheap still not enough to stop me buying it though.
    OMG
I use it in fair and I love it ❤️ Best contouring product. I have also the powder contour palette and is incredible too.
Took my contouring to a new level!
Couldn't recommend this more! I love this, blends brilliant. Only thing is I ordered the lightest one after seeing my friends palette and I'm not particularly pale and I find the colours are perfect for me! Although my friends pale and she loves it!
Not as good as made out
Tried my cousins before investing in this it's very thick and claggy! It's hard to blend if you were to buy this you would need to use a beauty oil with it!
    Good product
This contour kit has lasted me ages. Firstly, I thought that the texture of these is quite stiff and not very easy to blend but a drop of oil solves the problem. The price is fair and the quality is high.
    not a favorite
I love the shades and all but, I don't feel like it blends out that well as they're hard to blend and the light colours can't be used as highlighting shades because they don't blend well and they make my face look so cakey.
    Fave cream contour
Worth the money, and it is so easy to blend! I use a beauty blender to blend in the contour and it doesn't look patchy at all!
    The best...
I've used every contour kit I could possibly get my hands on. ABH surely is the best, the palette is extremely large in comparison to the images, definitely worth the price. My favourite contour kit...
    Love the fair
I was so happy when they came out with a fair as I thought the light was to orange for fair skin, love this product, blends easily and works well with foundations, could not be happier so glad I own this!
    Only use 2 colours
I have only given this product 3 stars as I have found that I only use 2 colours out of 6. I would suggest buying them singular rather than paying more and ending up with colours that you do not use and will never need.
    Amazing
Brought this earlier this week and I'm so amazed at how much I like it. I was quite worried when reading some reviews however decided to take the plunge when they released the reformulated fair kit. They are very natural however can be built up to make a more dramatic contour and they blend out so easily. I wouldn't recommend this if you have really visible pores as the concealers can highlight them a bit. The highlighter is great for the cheeks with a powder highlighter over the top however I found it took the foundation off my nose. Other than this it is amazing and worth the price.
    Fantastic!
My skin has an olive tone so I was stuck between choosing Medium or Light so for all you girls/guys with skin tones similar to the likes of Selena Gomez or Kylie Jenner I would totally recommend Light, while it may look quite pale on the picture, the contour is neither too dark or too pale and it is less orange based than the Medium kit. The highlight has a pinky tone, yellow-y tone and a more creamy one so no matter if you have more yellow or pink in your skin, this kit will work for you. I would recommend the Morphe G6 Brush or the MAC 130 brush to apply this kit with. Morphe is a lot cheaper so if you're on a budget, go for this one. These brushes work well if you just dab on the highlight and contour, and gradually build it up. Also a damp beauty blender is crucial. I personally don't see a downside to this product and even though I have very oily skin, it stays in place all day and doesn't feel cakey on my face even when i'm going for a full glam look. Finally, set your concealer with a setting powder, Laura Mercier's Translucent Setting Powder is perfect for this.
Contour shades amazing - highlight meh
When i watched initial reviews i passed on this product but when they released the fair kit that has been reformulated i snapped it up asap. Perfect!
I love this product! It's so easy to apply and blend! Just wish she'd release refills as banana is fast running out :(
Good, but not for the palest of us!
I was so excited when I heard they were bringing out a fair kit as the light was just too dark for my skin tone. Slightly disappointed that it is only available in the cream kit, but I got it anyway, figuring it wouldn't be too hard to pick up, which it's not! However, the "highlight" tones aren't highlighting, when I watched the video on how to use and saw that the highlight used on the model was the same shade as my skin! There really does need to be a paler kit for those of us who look like they've never seen the sun.
    LOVE
Absolutely love this contour kit! It works perfectly and stays put. Only faults I could raise are it slightly creasing under the eyes but using a very fine layer prevents this. I just wish there was more product in the pack as it is expensive and used a lot!
    Love love love!
This product is my temple for make up and is well verse for beginners, amateurs and experts. Being able to choose from 6 shades means you can always have the perfect contour for your mood, day or night. Want to go soft for the day and total Kim Kardashian at night? This is the product for you. So easy to use, so silky smooth, absolutely glides on! And if you do have trouble moving the product around, use some jojoba oil or an oil alike, this helps to loosen the product. Recommended to anyone and everyone who wants a contour palette.
    C'est just génial comme produit!
just amazing, I hesitated because it's kind of expensive and because of some bad reviews but it's absolutely amazing, make the contouring easy for a beginner like me!
    Amazing!
I find the texture of this kit so beautiful, the pigmentation that comes from each palette is incredible and completely build-able too! I have an olive based skin tone, and so the shades of the Medium kit suit perfectly for me, but I can see if you were more cool toned then the powder kit or other products may suit better. For me though - this kit was perfect.
    LOVE!
I bought this beautiful palette in the shade Light. At first I thought this would be far too dark for me as I am very fair, but to my surprise I am thrilled with the colour payback. This product is very pigmented and a little goes a long way. I used mine with an oil from Tarte cosmetics so i get a more creamy product which makes it easy to apply. It's all about blending too and this product is very easy to blend into the skin. Mega happy with this, will be purchasing the powder version!
    SUPER!
ABH contour is the first creamy contour kit I've used and it has worked fantastically. I tried the Wayne Goss buffing method with this kit and it turned out smooth and flawless.
Too warm but a lovely product
I was so certain I would love this product. I have a number of other Anastasia products and find them to be fantastic in terms of quality and shades, so I purchased this (Shade Light) without hesitation. Unfortunately, the shades are a little on the orange side for me, despite it being the lighted palate on offer. Right now with my summer (Vita Liberata!) tan, I can just about get away with the contour shades (bottom row), but come winter, they will look wrong on my skin tone. However, I have nothing but praise for the highlight shades (top row). The yellow and pink based tones are fantastic - both of these in particular really help revive my complexion. The formula is quite dry at first touch, but it warms with your skin, so it is quite easy to blend. Some people complain about the dry consistency, but remember this is a product that is intended to stick on your face and not slide around - I find warming it a little on the hand or face helps blend, also using a damp Beauty Blender makes the product less dry to use. When it sets it really is going nowhere!
    Light Cream Contour Kit
I bought this palette as it was released before the powder kit was restocked, I wanted to try both of them out individually and together. For the cream contour kit I'd recommend using a beautyblender or a makeup sponge in order to blend out the product, since it is quite thick. However, it can appear a little too warm, I'm like NC25 in MAC foundations but even so it was still too warm. But if you was to layer the powder contour over it will balance it out, making it appear more natural. The highlight and corrector shades are beautiful though, love using the banana shade under the eyes and vanilla for the other areas. It's just a shame about the contour shades leaning more towards the warmer tones than cool tones.
    Love it
Love it! and if you have dry skin I'd recommend using an face oil beforehand. I use Bio Oil which works great, and then a moisturiser then it wont flake if you have such problems! :D and it also blends in soo nice :D
    love love love
I absolutely LOVE this product. My sister ordered the powder version and was interested in buying my own, and then I saw that they were bringing out the new cream one! I've had my cream ABH contour kit for a while and I love using it, it's simply amazing! The colours are perfect and so easy to blend. My mum keeps asking me how I my make-up stays on so well all day :-) However, I think it would be a fantastic idea if ABH sold single cream contour pans as they do with the powder ones! :-)
    Contour
I disagree with the comment about the fair being "so orange", that's not true unless you really are as white as this computer screen, if you are then I wouldn't recommend it and would probably suggest not to buy this kit. Maybe they need to think about a 'fairly light' tone. I am a tanned complexion and fair is good for me due to highlighting, if I use the medium it doesn't make my features as striking and is more (in my opinion) for Asain/Latina skin tones, but if you are white/tan I would personally recommend fair. When done right it looks stunning. I would say the powder is probably better for beginners rather than the cream but I combine both and use a translucent powder over the top.
    TOO WARM
I really wanted to like this but the fair colours are sooo orange, despite it being for contour! The consistency is really dry too :(
