Directions

For best results wipe nail varnish remover over clean nails to remove any residue oils. Apply a basecoat, allow to dry and then continue with 2 coats of colour. For those on the run, finish with Seche Vite which speeds drying time and acts as a topcoat to fix the colour.

Ballet Slippers - Neutral polish with a solid creamy finish.

Although released as a bridal shade Ballet Slippers is not to be confused with Essie's ever popular translucent shades of pink. It has a solid creamy pink finish - marshmallow would be the closest comparison. Because of this non-translucent finish it really needs to be used with two even coats to avoid streaking. This is not the easiest of shades to apply, even for a professional. It can be as unforgiving as painting a deep red, but when the applied well it does look stunning, especially on shorter nails. However it's best to try this before buying as it can look odd against some dark or very pale complexions.

essie have such a huge range of colours and great reputation that their polish has become one of my favourite 'stocking fillers' at Christmas. Whether buying for my 14yr old niece or 65yr old mum ithe colours always delight.

I like Essie because it is the longest lasting nail varnish I have tried, it even lasts through a good washing up session if you put it on properly. The colour range is pretty extensive as well, love love ballet slippers, it just goes with everything and makes your hands look so elegant.
