After establishing himself professionally, with twelve years experience at Denise McAdam, Umberto Giannini and Michaeljohn, Mathew is now based in his Mayfair boutique, Mathew Alexander Bespoke Hair & Make-up.

Mathew has worked on advertising campaigns and promotions for Jean-Paul Gaultier Tout Beau Tout Propre, Parfums Givenchy cosmetics, Tiffany & Co, Agent Provocateur, De Beers, Marks and Spencer, Bourjois and Lancôme.

While being far too discreet to mention celebrity names, Mathew's celebrity work involves film premieres, weddings, commercials, record sleeves, pop videos, rock concerts and newspaper and magazine editorials.
