Product description

Kyoku Elements body wash is a mineral-rich cleansing gel, which cleans, conditions and refines the skin. The Earth body wash incorporates the woody scents of Hinoki, clarifying Teak and skin-firming Amethyst, while the Fire body wash uses ginger and South African red bush (Rooibos) to treat allergies and irritations plus anti-ageing bioactive alkaloids to regenerate the skin and promote promote collagen production...they also clean dirt from your body, just in case you were wondering...

Why it's cult

As well as cleansing, Kyoku incorporates unique healing properties into their body wash. Earth uses Indonesian Heartwood containing high levels of betulinic acid (an excellent anti-inflammatory) as well as tannins for protection against infection. Fire uses Rooibos which contains flavionoids to treat allergies & irritations as well as Amazon tree sap called Dragon's blood, to regenerate skin & promote healing. Every man who tried Kyoku came back to us wanting to buy it when their bottle ran out.

Directions

Massage across the body to deep clean, rinse off. This can be used on your hair and the tingling, stimulating properties help increase blood flow to the area, which in turn helps slow down the balding process. The tingling continues for about an hour after your shower.

User reviews of Kyoku Body Wash

It's not very bad; it's just not very good either.

In the interest of full disclosure, I will admit that I am female and thus perhaps not the type of consumer that Kyoku had in mind while developing this product. But I usually think that shower gels are unisex (sauce, goose, gander and all that). I was also longing for something that smelled a mite more masculine and would clean better than the frou frou shower gels from REN that I'd been using so I bought Fire. Well, it does clean, almost too well, and it has no moisturising properties whatsoever, though to be fair, neither Cult Beauty nor Kyoku make any claim that it is moisturising. My skin feels dry after washing and it tingles for a while, since Kyoku was quite liberal with the ginger extract. I didn't notice any collagen-stimulating effects, nor did my allergic response diminish so take Kyoku's grandiose claims of superpowers with a heaped tablespoon of salt. I would not repurchase and am currently using it as a handwash. I can see how guys might like this though: it's a straightforward body wash with a clean, male fragrance. They can also take advantage of their time in the shower to exercise their hand muscles; the bottle is made of insanely hard plastic and it's difficult to get product out right from the start. The only reservation I have it this: surely it cannot feel good to use this shower gel on manly bits...?
