Ah yes, thank you Mr Ricky Martin, Beyonce’s fierce fringe in the video for Telephone certainly does ‘bang’. We think it’s Ms Knowles’ sharpest look for a long time – there’s a cheeky Bettie Page feel that makes her look like a saucy modern day pin-up.
As fringe-sporters ourselves, we occasionally used to wonder (Carrie Bradshaw-stylee) if boys didn’t like girls with fringes – were they scared of them perhaps? Well if they were anything like the murderous Beyonce in Telephone, perhaps the chaps were right to be nervous…
But never fear, we found some fringe-fancying gents and all was well. And it’s no coincidence that some of our top beauty crushes sport brow-sweeping bangs too – Lou Doillon, Liv Tyler, Zooey Deschanel – ladies we salute you, and your fringes.
