Maison Margiela’s first perfume, Untitled

untitled1

Maison Martin Margiela is the darling brand of the avant-garde fashion set known for boundless creativity and border-less originality. Unlike the Lagerfelds of the world, Mr. Margiela shies away from publicity, preferring to label his clothes with a blank square of calico & four-corner stitching design rather than his name.

Carrying on in this tradition Margiela has just launched his first perfum – in collaboration with L’Oreal – called (untitled). Now some people might find that a little ‘up its own proverbial’ but that’s high fashion for you! The bottle is brilliantly designed, reflecting Margiela’s fashion aesthetic to the T and the slightly green colour to the liquid reflects the freshness of the fragrance.

This fresh woody green scent is meant to resemble a huge armful of plants harvested just after the rain, sweetly green, fresh and fragrant. The top notes are made up of rare Galbanum, boosted with the bitterness of box green. The middle notes combine the woody strength of Lentiscus, Incense with Bitter Orange and contrasted it with resonances of sweet jasmine and musky cedar as base notes.

Available exclusively from Selfridges from April – 30ml: £45.00, 50ml: £59.50, 100ml: £79.50
