Boots to open more drive-thru pharmacies
Boots is looking to open 15 more drive-thrus after the phenomenal success of its trial site in Colchester which opened in August last year. This sort of medication distribution has been de rigeur in the States for years already, with over 3,000 outlets. Boots are apparently looking at converting old McDonalds and Burger King sites in an slightly ironic cause vs. treatment switch.
Matt Bearman, manager of the first store, said prescriptions are usually ready within two minutes of being ordered. He added: ‘It’s lightning fast -instead of fast food it’s fast medicine.’
