{Make Up Artist}Ruby Hammer
Perfect finishThis is a really good investment, if I use the cleanser that comes with it I can make mine last 4-6 months major with daily use. Obviously I keep 2 on the go because as a make up artist they get rather more use that as a personal tool. The ergonomic shape makes it great to evenly cover the nooks and crannies of your face, from around your eye socket to the tide line along the jaw and neck. It can be used for tinted moisturisers, concealers or really heavy stage foundations alike and you can completely control the amount of coverage on the skin. Top tip: if I apply too much to an area I squeeze my BB into a tissue and then dab the area, it evens things perfectly to HD quality. Always dampen the sponge before use!). I use the white Pure Sponge to prep extremely sensitive skin when applying moisturisers - so I don't risk irritating flared up areas with my fingers. -

SarahOKI had high hopes for this tool – maybe too high as it did not deliver. It was better with a tinted moisturiser or light/sheer foundation. But for anything heavier I found it hard to blend the foundation into the skin despite following the instructions. Had to use my fingers in the end to smooth it out. Nice little gizmo but not worth the hype. -
London, GBSidneyReally good for light, even coverageParticularly good for applying tinted moisturiser and sheer foundations - gives a nice even coverage which lasts better (for those types of product) than applying with brush or fingers.

Julia DraperDisappointingI have tried to use this with my usual under eye concealer (Lancome, which is not very dense) and noticed that it hardly covered my dark circles. Also tried it with Circle Block, but Circle Block was too thick for this blender to apply properly. I wish I had not wasted my money (but this together with a cleanser). -

Gabrielle TimmsGreat GismoIt is such a great idea to do a sponge in this shape it reaches all those areas you usually have to go over after with your fingers and while it is a little pricey, it does last for ages. I am pale and so need to be very careful with making sure my foundation/concealer is even and BB does the job quickly and reliably. This sponge is quite thirsty so if I am looking for light coverage I dampen it before dipping in the cream (this also means you don't run out of foundation in a week). I would recommend to anyone really. -

JenniPricey but I would recommend it.This does seem a bit expensive for a sponge, but it does work well for those not brilliant at applying makeup evenly, a bit like an airbrush. I was quite glad to find it is a robust tool that you can wash over and over again otherwise the price would have really got to me. -

Princess GThe only tool I use to apply my make up nowThe beautyblender sponge is now the only thing I use to apply everything from concealer to foundation, blush and powder. It's great. My skin looks airbrushed after I use it and it's really easy to wash and leave on the ledge to dry.

Dampen the sponge and squeeze out. Dot makeup on your face and then bounce the sponge gently onto the makeup, blend with a patting motion. Use the round base for foundation and blush on the larger areas of your face such as your forehead, cheeks and chin, whilst the point works well around the eyes, in the smile lines and on spots. Wash with Beautyblender cleanser or gentle soap and warm water. Squeeze and let dry. It can be used and re-used for months.
